Attorneys In Space™: Space Lawyers Practicing Space Law
Love, lust and law on "the final frontier:" the far end of the universe. Writer Walt Jaschek and artist Paul Daly concoct an entertainment franchise starring attorneys. In space.
Attorneys in Space™ is a comic book feature created by Walt Jaschek and Paul Daly. First appearing in Slightly Bent Comics, it stars two space lawyers practicing space law in orbit above the Earth -- often arguing cases against each other, while trying to save their out-of-this-world marriage.

Attorneys In Space™ opening monologue by Walt Jaschek
Space.
It’s not the final frontier, you know.
Space is merely infinite.
Assuming infinite time, it can be revealed.
But the human heart.
Ah, the human heart.
Its frontiers are so distant…
…as to be unknowable.
I should know.
I’m an attorney.
In space.

Attorneys In Space™: the concept by writer Walt Jaschek
The year is 2066.
Humanity is still alive and able to watch Batman reruns from exactly 100 years earlier. There’s still crime, though, plus betrayal and treason – all that all-too-human stuff.
But civilization holds, for now, and it’s not all bleak: There is still a “society:” a hive of one million humans finding ways to live, work and love.
They call themselves The One Million Left. They live in permanent orbit in The Loop: the interconnected community of zero-gravity homes, offices, government institutions and military bases, all in the approximately same orbiting distance from Earth.
Around a loop they go, these near-last Earthlings, trying to maintain norms and extend what’s left of civilization. And its laws. That requires
Our two starring Attorneys in Space love what they do – and each other.
Breanna O’Malley.
The fiery red of Breanna’s long locks is fueled, they say, by her passion for criminal prosecution. Breanna is a practicing attorney arguing in Justice Hall 6, the most distinguished orbiting court-station in The Loop. Thirty-three and killing it, Breanna puts away hijackers, fuel thieves, and self-dealing space politicians alike. Behind bars in orbiting prison, the crooks and corrupted curse O’Malley’s name and mane. Juries are hypnotized by her Medusa-like hair; it’s why she won’t go for the “head-shave” in vogue in space. She wouldn’t say she has her sights on D.A., but she wouldn’t say “no.” As for now, she’s taking it a case at a time, and hoping, under her breath, that the day will not come she’d have to face down her husband in court.
The husband?
D’Arx Draxx.
A beautiful man-thing. Half-human, half Martian, all lawyer. The tall, beautiful, Keanu-like D’Arx was born for the courtroom. Though he wasn’t actually “born” at all. In a secret lab under Mars’ surface, a group of scientists had been growing physically perfect humans from cell tissue. These experimental people became the first – and only – generation of native Martians. The experiment was exposed, discontinued and blown up shortly after D’Arx achieved sentience. He migrated to Earth orbit shortly after law school, mostly to be with his native Earthling girlfriend – and fellow law school grad -- Breanna O’Mally. While Breanna is a fiery, determined prosecutor, D’Arx is a cool, methodical defender.
Of course, they are married.
They are engulfed in their careers, but come the weekend, engulfed in each other. If their condo-pod is rocking, don’t come knocking. They share a modern apartment in an orbiting condominium “moon,” with beautiful Earth views out the front window. They’re also a short Uber-Pod through space to Justice Hall 6, the most distinguished orbiting court in The Loop.
It’s there in Justice Hall 6 where a showdown will soon begin. You guessed it:
Prosecutor Brianna is about to go head-to-head in a prominent trial with D’Arx for the defense. Will there be fireworks in court? Or fireworks in bed?
Or both?
